The first product we ever engineered, the BuiltRight Industries Rear seat release was made to make your life easier. It’s a simple solution to accessing the area behind the rear seat backs of your truck. Designed with an OEM-inspired nylon pull strap, releasing the rear seat latch is effortless. The bracket firmly holds the latch pull in place and also guides the strap towards the top of the seat for easy reaching. It works hard so you don’t have to.

2009 - 2014 F-150/Raptor Supercrew: These models can utilize two latch release kits (one each side of the 60/40 rear seat).

2015 - 2024 F-150/Raptor Supercab and Supercrew: These models store OEM tool kit behind the passenger side seat and use one latch release kit for the driver's side.

2017 - 2024 F-250 and F-350 Supercab and Supercrew: These models will utilize a single kit on the driver's side.

Install

Installation of our Rear Seat Release takes just a few minutes using a T30 torx bit and something like a closed end wrench to release the seat latch. Check out our video below!

Cool product

Great! Took less time to install than it did to watch how to video. I’ve been complaining about this wasted space since I got my truck. The single seat where the jack is lowers but the double seat side was just wasted space. Now I have room for long guns, fishing gear, and more. Great product!

Really Like This Release

The release fits perfectly and works as intended. However I have found that it only works 100% of the time with the lower seat in the up position. When the seat is in the lowered position, there is not enough clearance for the latch to catch. But not a big deal in my opinion. 2021 Ford F-150 SuperCrew.

Hey Jeffrey, A lot of what makes the OEM latch finicky is the shape of the black rubber molded cushion in the middle of the latch. Most folks have issues with it engaging properly at low seat angles and this is mainly due to the shape of the pocket in that cushion, It more "D" shapes then "O" it needs to be. A little heat resolves this, but many folks don't make it that far. Rear Seat Release - F250

This was simple and it's awesome. Took me about 10-15 minutes while watching the video explanations. Now that I know how to do it, I could do it in 3-5 minutes. I also placed a small piece of velcro to the pull cord to attach to the back of the seat so it remains hidden, but still quickly accessible. Now I have access to all the things I told Big Brother were "lost in a boating accident". I've already referred all my friends.
